Sunday, March 27, 2022 The Fourth Gospel: Tales of a Jewish Mystic By Bishop John Shelby Spong We are pleased to have John Moxley lead the discussion this Sunday on Part III of Bishop Spong’s book, The Fourth Gospel: Tales of a Jewish Mystic. John is well-schooled in the theology of the progressive theologians of the Jesus Seminar. I hope that you will be a part of the discussion about this book that challenges some of our long-held understandings about what the Gospel of John is telling us. Please join us on Zoom at 8:45 and class will begin at 9:00. Boy Scouts, leaders and FKPC volunteers perform fantastic playground clean-up on March 19, 2022.3/23/2022 In March 1965, Martin Luther King, Jr., (a Baptist Minister) led a great march of nonviolent black protesters on a long four-day march. More than three thousand civil rights demonstrators from Selma marched all the way to Montgomery, Alabama. Scores of demonstrators join along the way, totaling twenty-five thousand marchers upon their arrival in Montgomery. Image courtesy History.com
Fred Rogers was an ordained minister of word and sacrament for the PC(USA) and was a notable public figure whose work around peace and reconciliation is worth remembering. Rogers was also a pioneer in the world of Christian Education and formation of young children. March 20 was his birthday and the day that the PC(USA) has chosen to highlight all we can learn from his work. Info courtesy of Presbytery of St. Augustine. Photo courtesy of PBS.
St. Patrick was born in Britain, not Ireland. He only came to Ireland at age 16.
St. Patrick’s Day is observed each year on the anniversary of St. Patrick’s death, believed to be March 17, 461. The first St. Patrick’s Day parade took place in 1601 in St. Augustine, Florida, not Ireland. Barbara Fitos will again lead the discussion on Part II of The Fourth Gospel by John Shelby Spong. This week our focus will be on chapters 13-16. It is not necessary that you have read the book to be able to participate in the discussion. During this time of Lent, we hope you will be a member of our group as we seek to better understand Jesus of Nazareth.

Yesterday morning five amazing members from Fort King Church (Marianne, Sally, Steve, Margaret and Mary Beth) met our new friends who will be moving into an apartment on 14th Street.
They are Chastin and Jose. They are both delightful people, and very excited about moving into a home. Move in date is April 1. Before that, some of us will be helping them paint their new place. We have already "gathered" the furniture and most of the major items needed for a home for two people. Thank you to those of you who are donating furniture and bedding, lamps, and other items. There are still some things that Chastin and Jose will need for their place. Most of these items are small and over the past day, have already been donated. On Sunday, Mary Beth will have a list available for sign up in the narthex after worship. Thank you in advance for contributing to this meaningful and exciting mission. Shalom, Mary Beth YAY! We are thrilled to announce that ART 4 ALL will resume in-person creative gatherings at Ft. King Presbyterian this Sunday, March 20, from 3 until 5. ALL ages, ALL faiths, ALL abilities are welcome. There is never a charge, but donations of cereal, soup, peanut butter, and other canned goods for the St. Paul AME food pantry are greatly appreciated. Here are some of the wonderful creative projects you will have the opportunity to participate in: We sure hope to see you there!
