Mary Beth Neely will lead the discussion this Sunday as we reflect on what elements make a church vital today, and how we might continue to be disciples of Jesus in spite of declining church numbers. Marguerite Terwilleger will contribute to the discussion, telling us about her vital congregation in Sanford, Florida. We hope to have internet by Sunday, but just understand that the storm might make doing Zoom impossible. Please join us for coffee (and on Zoom) at 8:45 and class will begin at 9:00. Passcode: Micah6:8 Known as the Schwenkfelders, they were "remarkable for their gratitude. Two days after they disembarked, they held a thanksgiving for their safe arrival to their new homeland. They have repeated this each year on or around 24 September. Five congregations of Schwenkfelders remained in Pennsylvania at the beginning of the twenty-first century. Apart from his effect on his own followers, Schwenkfeld’s strongest influence was on the Society of Friends (Quakers) that appeared in England in the seventeenth century". The above information is courtesy of Mr. Dan Graves, Christian History Institute 1. Do you have to attend meetings? No. 2. Will it cost anything? No. 3. Do I have to travel? No. 4. How much time will this require? Not much… your call! 10 minutes here and there or perhaps 10 minutes a week, or 10 minutes a month. 5. Doing what? I will provide a list of names... then, you decide! Research in Ancestry, archival newspapers, and other resources. Search for data, obituaries, photographs, grave sites, and biographical information. Interested? Please contact halgbrown@gmail.com
