Good morning, members and friends of Ft. King Presbyterian!

If you have driven along 36th Ave recently, you’ve probably seen Artist Drake Arnold’s mural – The Water and Wildlife of the Ocklawaha River – evolve along the wall in front of the church. Over 20 colorful images of native creatures have brought this 415-foot wall to life!

This beautiful creation is a donation of love and talent by Drake, and supported by anonymous donors of FKPC. It will become a permanent piece in the City of Ocala’s public art collection.

We hope you will join us on Dec. 15, 10 a.m., at the FKPC HOPE House (13 NE 36th Ave, 34470) to celebrate and dedicate this tremendous gift to the community. We will have a short dedication and tour of the mural, followed by refreshments, music, chats with the artist, and a final chance to tour the Ocklawaha River photo and art exhibit featuring nine artists.

(Shhhh….Drake is receiving no compensation for his work, but if you would like to contribute toward a gift of appreciation for him, you may write a check to Fort King Presbyterian Church with the notation “HOPE House Mural.” Please call Joanne Cornell-Ohlman at 352-843-3046 with questions.)
