Ye Olde History Snippets…

On this date 120 years ago, George William Warren, of New York City, an outstanding organist who served at several large Episcopal churches in Albany, Brooklyn, and New York City in the second half of the nineteenth century passed away.  Mr. Warren was well-known as an organist and composer in the nineteenth century and still remembered today as the composer of “National Hymn”, the tune to which “God of Our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand” is usually sung.
