WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

The Children's Discipleship Ministry Team provides activities that help our children grow in the knowledge of God through the love of Jesus Christ.   We are also blessed to have many other  members of the Fort King congregation support and assist in making sure the children understand the important message that each one of them  are so special to God who loves them so much.  Our Sunday School for children meets after the Children's Sermon at the Worship  time in the Christian Education Building until the end of the service. Children do not have Sunday School the first Sunday of the month as they participate in Communion with their parents. We are so blessed to have excellent teachers who share their knowledge of God with the students.  Children's Sunday School is for children from kindergarten to sixth grade.  Other responsibilities for this ministry team are:
  1. Providing volunteers to help in the nursery with children up to 5 years of age.
  2. Provide a Vacation Bible School program along with adults and the youth group.
  3. Organize a Rally Day program to kick off the Sunday School Year.

Members of this team are: Kathy Bohner, Becky Wolf, Chris Berryhill, Joanne Ohlman.

All women of the church are Presbyterian Women.  Presbyterian Women (PW) of Fort King Presbyterian Church is not an organization to join, but a way for women who are members of the church to grow in knowledge of the love of Jesus Christ, to fulfill their Christian responsibilities, and to maintain Christian Community.  Presbyterian Women study the Bible, get to know one another, provide hospitality and pastoral care, are involved in mission and stewardship, and develop leaders for the whole church.

who we are & what we do

Our Worship Ministry seeks to plan and create a vibrant, inclusive, challenging and meaningful worship experience for everyone who worships with us, that is also “honest to God”.  We act as leaders in Ft King Presbyterian to help provide a variety of worship experiences that include music, communion on the first Sunday of each month, and other elements of a strong worship service.

These include:
  • Acolytes - recognizing and empowering our youth who serve to
welcome the Spirit through lighting of candles
  • Communion - organizing our Elders who volunteer to serve
  • Flowers - Make certain  we have some.
  • Music - We support and encourage our Music Director, Rick
       Roberts and his volunteer choir.
  • Readers - Members volunteer to read the first Lesson from
       the Bible each week.
  • Sound Board - AV support: for sound and projection of some of
the liturgy.  This is coordinated by volunteers.
  • Ushers - organizing the various ministries and individuals who
       receive the offering each Sunday
  • Affirmations - recognizing those in our church family who
quietly do so many things to make our family
a welcoming and inclusive community to all.
  • View from the Pews - We welcome suggestions from all in our
church family and discuss how to best implement
       them.
  • Pastoral Input - The Pastor serves as an advisor to the
Worship Ministry as we work together to serve
       God.

We meet the first or second Monday of the month at 1:30 PM and work diligently to be effective drivers of our church “bus” -- not just passengers.  Please join us; the more drivers the better.

Mary Beth Neely, Susan Jensen, Rick Roberts, Judith Bullen, Afriyie Dankyl, Anne MacKay,  and Margy Marshall are our faithful and energetic drivers.
